Detection of Iodine in Diosmin

2023-06-05 00:00267

Diosmin is a drug that can enhance venous tension, reduce vascular fragility and abnormal permeability, promote lymphatic reflux, and improve microcirculation. Clinically, it is mainly used to treat various symptoms related to chronic venous  and   lymphatic   insufficiency  caused   by  various   reasons,   including  varicose  veins,  venous  edema, thrombophlebitis, deep vein thrombosis, etc. It can also be used to treat acute and chronic hemorrhoids and other related  symptoms.  For the  venous  system,  this  product  enhances  venous  tension  by  prolonging  the  time  that adrenaline acts on the venous wall to cause contraction; For the microcirculation system, this product can reduce the permeability of capillaries and enhance their resistance; For the lymphatic system, this product increases lymphatic drainage speed and lymphatic vessel contraction, improves lymphatic reflux, and reduces edema symptoms.

The commonly used synthesis method of Diosmin: dissolve hesperidin in pyridine, add iodine to produce iodization reaction, then prepare crude product through dehydrogenation reaction, and then wash and purify with pure water to prepare finished drug. Therefore, it is necessary to detect iodine residues in finished drugs to standardize drug quality control. The sample undergoes online combustion pre-treatment, alkali absorption, and iodine ion separation and detection through ion chromatography
